Online Therapy (Telehealth)
Story Space offers therapy via secure videoconferencing for adults who prefer the flexibility of attending sessions from home or another private space. Online therapy is evidence-based and research shows it can be just as effective as in-person sessions for many concerns, including trauma, anxiety, and depression. Importantly, strong therapeutic relationships can be built online, allowing for meaningful and lasting progress.
Benefits of Online Therapy
Access therapy from anywhere, reducing travel and scheduling pressures
Maintain continuity of care during illness, travel, or busy periods
Connect with evidence-based, trauma-informed care even if you are not located nearby
Preparing for Your Online Session
To make the most of Telehealth sessions, it’s important to:
Find a private, quiet space where you will not be overheard or interrupted
Use a reliable device and internet connection with camera and audio capability
Minimise distractions (phones on silent, notifications off, pets/household interruptions reduced)
Ensure emotional safety — for trauma-focused work (e.g., EMDR), we discuss suitability and grounding strategies beforehand
Confirm your location at the start of each session, in case of emergency
Online therapy is delivered with the same care, structure, and evidence-based approach as face-to-face sessions.
